The model: Mitch has always wanted to build his favorite versions of the Slo-Mo IV and V and run them as a team.  Since he has had a IV in the past, he decided to build the 1954 Slo-Mo V first. Look for the 1956 version of the Slo-Mo-Shun IV to come next as this boat's teammate. It's currently under construction. These two iconic boats haven't been run as a team since Monte and Nigel Steere were running them when CT first started racing and Mitch thought they were too historic not to be represented. He loves the mahogany. The boat opened the 2022 CT season with a victory in the Apple Cup in its first race.

The real boat:  Winner of the 1954 Gold Cup with Lou Fageol behind the wheel. The boat might be most famous for its 360 degree blowover flip the following year in Seattle during an attempt to break the qualifying speed record. The boat was later sold and raced as the Miss Seattle, Miss Tri-Cities and Berryessa Belle. The Hydroplane & Raceboat Museum later restored her to running condition. Now she's a museum quality display piece.
