DIVISION 1: The "vintage" class of boats where models are 1/10th scale replicas of unlimiteds that were built and/or raced primarily in the 1950s and 60s.  

Division I boats will run any brushless outrunner motor with max can diameter of 42mm and max can length (including bearing housings) of 52mm, or any brushless inrunner motor with a max can diameter of 37mm and max can length of 60 mm. The motor can have a maximum documented or advertised factory rating of 1250 KV on no more than 14 sub-c cells or a 4S LiPo cells.

Each season the high points champion in Division 1 is presented with the prestigious

Classic Thunder Trophy

DIVISION 2: A more modern class of boats where models are 1/10th scale replicas of unlimiteds that were built and/or raced primarily in the 1970s through the late 1980s with open cockpits.  

These boats can run any brushless outrunner motor with max can diameter of 42mm and max can length (including bearing housings) of 52mm, or any brushless inrunner motor with a max can diameter of 37mm and max can length of 60 mm. The motor can have a maximum documented or advertised factory rating of 1650 KV on no more than 14 sub-c cells or a 4S LiPo cells.

DIVISION 3: The most modern class of boats where models are 1/10th scale replicas of unlimiteds that were built and/or raced primarily in the mid 1980s through present time with enclosed canopies.  

These boats can run any electric motor on no more than 14 sub-c cells or a 4S LiPo cells.
