The model:  Bob brought this new boat out for the 2008 CT Gold Cup with Jeff Campbell as his driver.  Jeff built the boat for Bob and it performs great.  Jeff drove it to a second place finish.  It looks great on the water too.  I'm not sure if we'll see the boat racing in CT much, but it will likely be running a lot in ERCU.

The real boat:  This is the last Miss U.S. owned by George Simon.  Ron Jones built the boat and it was very successful.  It was outfitted with a rear horizontal wing in 75 and won the Gold Cup in 1976, defeating the famous Blue Blaster.  Tom D'Eath was behind the wheel for that famous win.  It was also the boat that Seattle firefighters allowed to burn extensively during the Seafair race at Sandpoint, prematurely ending it's season of racing that year.
