Boat Statistics
The model: Steve is now on what we think is his third model of this boat in two years. The latest one is a step forward and is looking better on the water all the time. Steve has gained a lot of experience in two years of racing with CT and sure builds a nice looking model. The real boat: This boat originally ran as the turbine powered U-95 owned by Jim Clapp. After showing the potential of turbine power, it was sold to Pete LaRock and converted to piston power. It raced as the Shakeys Special as well as Sunny Jim, but is most remembered with her sponson tips pointing upward, sporting sharks teeth on them, as it sank beneath the waters of Lake Washington at Sandpoint in 1974.
