The model:  Mark built this boat as an experiment to see if a shovel nose could compete in Div 2 Racing.  It was purposely built on the heavy side to help keep her down on the water.  The boat has proven to be extremely fast and is certainly capable of winning any time it’s on the water.  Mark retired the boat after a successful 08 season and brought it out of retirement in time for the 09 Apple Cup.

The real boat:  The boat started life in 1967 as the blue and white Parco's O-ring Miss.  In 1978 it was converted to a cabover design and painted with a very interesting paint job.  The boat was campaigned under several different names from '78 to '87, when it was retired. In 1986 the boat won the Miller High Life Cup in San Diego, mostly because all the other boats didn’t start of did not finish but still A WIN IS A WIN!  The boat holds the title as being the oldest hydroplane hull ever to win a race.  It was 19 years old at the time it finally won!
