The model:  This model was built new in 2018 by Mitch as it is one of the few "different" modern boats of the modern era. Mitch liked the idea of The Turbinator and was drawn to the turbo Allison look. He spent a lot of time on the details. The boat is a hot performer, but was plagued with driveline failures during 2019. It managed to finish 2nd in season points and appeared to have those issues behind it by the end of the season.

The real boat:  Ed Cooper finally put his turbo Allison engines into a modern hull at the end of 2002 and immediately saw results as a top qualifier. In 2003, they broke into the winner's circle in a big way, winning three races including the Gold Cup with Mark Evans as driver. Jimmy King later became the driver. Conflict with the governing bodies compelled Cooper to quit racing the boat for many years and it has not raced a full season for the last several. in 2016 the team brought the boat out as Griggs Presents Miss Ace Hardware for the Tri-Cities race.
