The model:  Ken Duncan did a good job building the boat from an ML Boatworks laser cut kit and raced it in 2018. In 2019, he raced it for most of the season, made some needed modification, and greatly improved the handling. Ken sold the boat to Harry Gatjens toward the end of the 2019 season. David Newton did some more work on it and drove it to a win at the final race of the season. Harry is a new member and looks to bring the boat back for 2020.

The real boat:  In 2005, owner Fred Leland, with the help of sponsor Jerry Rise, ran the white and persimmon paint scheme of the vintage 1960 Miss Thriftway as a tribute to legendary boat. It wasn't a great performer in 2005, but it was nice to see the colors of the old Miss Thriftway (and Miss Century 21) on the water for the first time sine 1963.
