Boat Statistics
The model: Mike originally last ran this boat in the 2002 season. It was just beginning to show its potential when it was retired unexpectedly. Mike has brought her back for 2007 in a big way. He has designed his own gearbox, which allows him to overdrive a 700SC motor. The "Kroney" gearbox has shown immediate potential. Mike's Dutchman became the first Division 1 boat to win a heat of racing with a gearbox installed. In fact it's the first heat won by a div 1 boat running anything other than an AstroFlight motor. Our hats are off to Mike for his innovation. The boat is running faster than it ever has. The real boat: The boat was built in Oak Harbor at the seaplane base by Ray Forsman. It was said to be a copy of the ill fated Miss Bardahl cabover but was really a up sized 280 limited hydro design. She used 2 Ford 427 cu. in. engines and was never able to qualify for a race. Paul Bequette was the rookie driver in 1967 who piloted the craft.
