The model:  John heads into the 2010 season with a brand new boat.  This is John's first scratch built CT hydro and he did a great job with it.  The boat looks very nice and runs good too.  John should be very happy racing this boat and proud of the results of his building.  Nice work John.

The real boat:  My Gypsy was designed and built by by Fred Dube and Bill Cantrell of Gale Enterprises for Jim and Yvonne Ranger of Detroit.  The boat was driven by Jim Ranger initially, then Ed O'Halloran and later by Tommy Fults.  Eventually the boat was renamed a few times, and raced on into 1983 after being converted to a pickle-fork hydro.  1983 was when the boat was destroyed when the front end came apart on the Detroit River, where she first made her maiden voyage some 17 years earlier.
