The model: Dale built this boat in 2008 and debuted it at the Diamond Cup.  The boat is a beauty and has real mahogany decking and looks great on the water.  A little more tweaking and this one will be a front-runner.  Good looking boat!

The real boat:  This boat burst on to the scene in 1951 after being finished in about 28 days.  It was designed to be a little wider than the Slo-Mo IV in order to get through the corners better.  It completely dominated the Gold Cup in it's first year and won it again in 1954.  It is likely most famous for its complete 360 degree blowover flip on Lake Washington in 1955. The boat was driven primarily by Lou Fageol and was owned by Stan Sayres.
