The model:  Dave did an outstanding job in this beautiful model.  It is very striking on the water and the quality of the work is remarkable.  The boat debuted at the 2010 Mapes for testing, but we look forward to seeing it some more as he works out the ride and gets comfortable with the new boat.

The real boat:  This is the second unlimited owned by Stan Sayres, designed by Ted Jones and built by Anchor Jensen.  Together with the Slo-Mo IV, the Slo-Mo team kept the Gold Cup in Seattle from 1951-1955. The boat won the Gold Cup in 51 and 54.  Lou Fageol drove the boat primarily and ended his driving career after being injured in 1955 when the boat did a 360 degree blowover flip while attempting to break a qualifying record on Lake Washington.
