The model:  Alex Deaver drove this boat originally.  In 2013 his younger brother Trevor took over the boat. The boat was later sold to Kirk Johnson who has been campaigning her ever since. The boat has been a very steady performer for many years in the club, finishing 6th in season points in 2019.

The real boat:  The Bat Winged boat hit the scene in 1968 with rookie driver Dean Chenoweth at the wheel.  Dean would go on to make his mark in the sport driving for Bernie Little's Budweiser team.  The boat would go on with a new conventional wing in 69 as the Myr's Special and just missed winning the championship that season. It took second place to the Karelsen Bud driven by Bill Sterett, who got away with driving inside the buoy line in Seattle when the officials failed to see the infraction.
