The model:  This is another of the "ugly boat" theme boats for 2010.  Mitch decided on this one as he had never seen anyone build an RC model of this beauty.  Needless to say it is doubtful that anyone ever has.  We'll have to wait and see how it performs, but it will certainly be unique out on th water.

The real boat:  This boat was a bit of a mystery and was only enterred in one race.  It was a miserable failure and failed to qualify for the 55 Gold Cup in Seattle.  It was designed and built by Howard Gidovlenko with the help of driver Ray Crawford.  Believe it or not, the boat attempted to break the water speed record on Lake Mead in 1955.  Needless to say, the record was never seriously in jeopardy.  There is little known about the boat and very few photos or records to document its history.
